Bryan Schwieters

M.D.

I was born and raised in the Twin Cities.  I received my undergraduate degree in Biology from St. John’s University.  I attended medical school at St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, and did my clinical rotations in New York.  After graduating from medical school in 2003, I completed my residency in 2007 at the Hennepin-Regions Psychiatry Training Program in the Twin Cities.

Following residency, I started my private practice and also worked inpatient psychiatry at St. Joseph’s and Regions hospital.  Currently, I am focusing most of my time at Schwieters Medical doing outpatient clinical work. I continue work at St. Joseph’s hospital with inpatient psychiatry part time.

I am a Board Certified Psychiatrist. My areas of interest and experience include, but are not limited to:  Addiction Medicine, Traumatic Brain Injury, Geriatric Psychiatry, Sports Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry.

As a provider, I strive to create an environment that is non-rushed and specialized to meet each client’s unique situation and needs.  This involves a therapeutic relationship where clients have input in the care they receive.  I have found this collaborative approach to be very successful in helping people achieve their personal goals.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, sports (hockey and football), outdoor activities, art, and photography.
